KIRAR

A chordophone, the kirar is usually made out of decorated box wood, cloth and beads. Its five or six strings attached in the middle determine the available pitches and are played by touching the strings with a finger, similar to a guitar. The instrument's tone depends on the musician's playing technique: bowing, strumming, or plucking. If plucked, the instrument will produce a soft tone. Strumming, on the other hand, will yield a harmonious pulsation.

is played in almost any celebrations accompanied by “Kebero” and “Chera Wata”.
